Tom Winnifrith Bearcast: Brian Basham demands a retraction

The Fleet Street Legend is up in arms about what he terms a foul smear on him HERE but, as I explain, the old champagne socialist is trying to pull the wool over our eyes with his mockney dining habits. At least the budget means that the champagne for Brian and his comrades will be cheaper but the Budget really is a shower. I explain why. Then it is onto Bluebird Merchant Ventures (BMV), Red Rock Resources (RRR) where it looks ever bleaker for my pal Andrew Bell and finally why the Redcentric (RCN) valuation is bonkers.

Tom Winnifrith Bearcast: Peterhouse Corporate Finance wades into the transgender wars

A few words on the Budget then is Peterhouse staffed by woke loons or alt right freaks or both? I discuss in relation to Mountfield (MOGP). I look at Marchale (MAC), Iconic (ICON), Optibiotix (OPTI) and Skinbiotherapeutics (SBTX).

Tom Winnifrith bad language Special Bearcast: Barclays I hate you and Phil Hammond you are a mendacious knobhead too

I have been given a massive run around by Barclays (BARC) today and I hate them with a passion. I have also had domestic issues with flooding. I explain all but am in a foul mood. Phil Hammond is not being straight with us in the Budget. He is a knobhead. I explain a few truths you will not hear from him, or indeed the other lot. At a company level I cover Warpaint London (W7L), I3 Energy (I3E) and Frontera Resources (FRR). Warning this podcast contains very bad language. The only high point of my day was a sweet email from Abbe Aronson - the girl who broke my heart 32 years ago - after this article on the US mid-terms. Abbe, thanks for brightening an otherwise shite day.

My own great unknown starts at 4.50 GMT tomorrow as I discuss. Is the Budget of this week an unknown? Not really after all of today's leaks. I look at what will happen and why it is madness and bad news.

Exclusive: Evil Knievil buys Partnership Assurance shares

Shares in Partnership Assurance Group (PA.) were knocked sharply yesterday and have fallen again today to 126p thanks to the budget proposal to allow folks not to take an annuity when their pension is due – annuity provision is a major part of Partnership’s business. Bear raider Evil Knievil reckons the market has got it wrong and has bought the shares.

Weekend Video Postcard Number 32

I think sound and vision nailed once again. I am finally getting the hang of this.  I am meant to be celebrating St Patrick’s Day with some Irish-for-a-day folk which means just mindless drinking. Since they were not Irish yesterday they will not understand why there is nothing to celebrate today. And so I may dodge that for some more writing. Pro tem here is the video postcard for this week

On the Agenda

  1. The end of an era for Irish rugby –see also my sad thoughts on that HERE
  2. The Budget – I do not expect much
  3. The markets
  4. Nigel Wray again - ref Alliance Pharma
  5. Cyprus, the Euro and theft
  6. Leaving the EU
  7. UKInvestor Show on April 13th
